Nationwide Kiosk Deployment
Hot Topic engaged primary IT partner, Worldlink, to deploy Kiosks at nearly 700 stores throughout the US. Hot Topic selected Worldlink based upon their recent success in deploying over 500 Digital Signage Listening Stations at approximately 300 Hot Topic stores. As part of the kiosk deployment, all previously installed Listening Stations needed onsite retrofitting and reimaging by Worldlink technicians to allow customers access to all kiosk applications.
Worldlink provided a complete turnkey solution for Hot Topic’s IT, Operations and Construction groups. Working closely with Hot Topic’s selected component provider and OLEA Kiosks, Worldlink managed all logistics including providing just in time shipping to the stores. Worldlink utilized its world class project management team to confirm the receipt of equipment at each store while coordinating the installation with Hot Topic HQ Management, Hot Topic Store Management and Worldlink field technicians. This coordination was crucial to the success of the project as the combined kiosk installation and retrofit phases were completed in just 5 weeks.
To complete the installation of the kiosks, Worldlink installed new electrical circuits, category 5 cabling and augmented the display areas to accept the new kiosks. Once the kiosks were in place, Worldlink confirmed connectivity with Hot Topic HQ and verified the new content was received on each kiosk.
Worldlink continues to support the kiosk technology through a “Hot Swap” program in partnership with Hot Topic’s component and software providers.
