As stated by Big 5 Sporting Goods in their POS Tech Refresh RFP; "our current POS registers and payment terminals have been in production for... years. Additionally, the PCI Data Security Standard has changed the security scope for these traditional point-of-sale units as well as encryption change requirements for all payment terminals by 2010."
